The system to get rid of DR would for all clubs to have a reserves team in a proper league structure. Which we had years ago and it work, I am old enough to be one of the thousands who went to watch the reserves on a Thursday evening at Thrum Hall However the RFL had decreed that on Certain (privileged) clubs are allowed to run them. Which is why the state of our game is where it is as there is no proper and well run path way for all level of players to Move to the professional game at what ever level they can compete in
Was it Thursdays or Friday night?
Anyway.
Is this not part of the problem of how you are viewing today’s game though through yesterday’s glasses.
What was in place and worked decades ago is no longer relevant in virtually every aspect of life including rugby league and while it may be good to look back with fond memories it’s not good to be living in the past.
Today. Clubs at every level are struggling to run a first team never mind a reserve team, there simply isn’t enough money, players, interest or support and all the other personnel such as officials, doctors, security etc that would be required, your proposal isn’t realistic in 2022 based on evidence and fact.
Another point is when making an argument for or against something it also has to be based on evidence and fact.
When using extreme comments such as “evil” and “subservient” just because a player has a game on a Friday night for other obvious reasons hardly adds credibility to the person or the case.
It sounds like a nutter just having a mindless rant.
PS: If you don’t believe me try the “Eh I remember when I was a lad” to the younger generation and see what the response will be.
