Broadbent is the first to point fingers behind the sticks when tries are conceded, so I don't think he'd have any problem at all with Des' comments. A lot is very much tongue in cheek with Des and he must be doing a lot right - we've been in the top 2 for most of the season.
I think players need have their cards marked sometimes and personally have no problem at all with his comments. The players are being paid to perform to their best and like any other job, your boss has the right to say something if you are under-performing.
I liken his comments to Don King selling seats for a prize fight. The game has too few characters these days.
He's right about Calland though
