If fevs defence wasn't so good in the first half the score would have been a heck of a lot more.

That makes a change from last season then when Fev had all the luck with injuries. And I am not sure about Leigh being the favs either I think the bookies have it wrong there.

I would have Leigh as favourites for the league then Widnes.Fax will battle it out with Fev.

Because the last opportunity to see either team play in a proper game before yesterday was in the major final of our competition, something which Widnes and Leigh missed out on by some considerable margin.

Remind me where Widnes have finished in the past 3 years? A average Championship team that cant get near to winning a League or Grand Final as they are not good enough. Least we can laugh at Widnes getting walloped each week in SL while Fax keep reaching Grand Finals and winning them

To be totally honest I didn't see anything special about Leigh at all?? Fev looked extremely poor. I just didn't see what makes Leigh the bookies favourites?

Last I looked we were behind Halifax and Widnes.



Injuries crippled Leigh last season and we always seem to start well and finish poorly.



When we hammered Fax 46-10 last season, I honestly thought that was our year !!



Leigh result against Fev just proves what can happen when you have a few injuries in vital pivots. Fev will still be there come September and in my opinion, whoever handles the injuries the best will win the division and the GF.



There isn't much between Leigh, Fax, Widnes, Fev and Barrow in my opinion, and Batley will have something to say about that too!

Widnes have improved the squad this year, and barring injuries we will be better under Betts.Last year was a freak season and even Cullen admitted never seen so many injuries to a team he has coached.If I,Anson and Thackeray stay fit we will do very well.Forwards also win you games, and with Hecky,Scully,Pickers,Kavanagh, and Haggerty we will do fine.Varkulis is also doing well at prop and we have lots of options at Secondrow.Anyway shows you how injuries can effect a team just look at Fev against Leigh?To get in the playoffs and Northern rail final last year was an achievement considering.Most of the season was a reserves team.

Every team has injuries its how you cope with them that is the key, Widnes didn't cope well and IMO used it as an excuse for a lot of poor performances whereas Fev fans were on here gloating about how they didn't pick any injuries up all year due to their superior training regeime that helped them dominate the league (2 poles apart!) whereas this year they have a few injuries get tonked and now they using that as an excuse.



Last year Fax were smashed by Leigh and Fev early doors, beaten by Hunslet then thrown out of the cup! Whinge about injuries and bad luck? No we had to put our hands up and just say we messed up. But I bet if you ask any of the players about it they will say it made them a tighter group of players and more determined getting their rewards in the end!

Widnes had a regular 10 missing for the first 4 months of last year.

Had a game of tackle on morrisons car park, busted shoulders and knees etc.

Mate i have Rhino skin now, as i am used to us falling since 2006. Grand Finals against Cas and HKR where horrible.The Castleford Grand Final was the worst experience, as we got smashed with the skills of Brough and Thacks.Hopefully Thacks and I,Anson will combine well, as about time Widnes had some luck.
