Well a shocking 2nd half performance albeit with a team that was playing on one leg. The last two meetings though have ended in defeats by 32 pointsso no arguments there. I thought Grix had a good game to finish his career but we were 2nd best in all departments. Onto next season though and if our rumoured signings come off we could at last be a team capable of competing for the top instead of being satisfied with being a team just competing. No surprises to deal with. I can breath again.
Surprisingly decent rugby in shocking conditions.

Fev have shown is where the bar is at and we have a lot of work to do. The Fev team is just so physically imposing and we lack that size in our pack, obviously offloading our biggest player probably didn't help things. Next weeks game should be a cracker with the best two teams in the final like it should be.

For us we look like we have made a lot of good signings in the backs but we need some real size up front so I am sure Grix is trying to address that. Im glad McGrath scored a cracker to end his Fax career that was real quality. Hopefully Woody stays as at the moment he is the only player we have that has got some flair and the ability to unlock a defence. We would have taken 3rd before the season but its just a shame that injuries and the loan farce left us with no chance of competing when it really mattered.

No surprises at all for me the lads tried but Fev were just too strong across the park and dominated, added to that we had our usual share of mistakes, silly penalties and turnstile defence, at one point in the second half I feared it could be a cricket score.
Hard to say who will come out on top between Rovers and Toulouse but I will go with Fev as I have a feeling Toulouse will feel the pressure more and bottle it.

The size of squad which meant towards the end of the season we'd no alternative but play players who weren't fit, with result that brilliant mid season run couldn't be maintained. Conversely teams like Fev with a much bigger squad were able to rotate/rest players, meaning todays result not really a surprise. I would agree with the need to get JWH signed up ideally on a 2 year deal as he's been a revelation this season at full-back, and even on one leg today was one of our better players in both attack and defence. While we definitely need more punch in the forwards a special word for Gaŕside today - not always been his biggest fan but against a bigger stronger pack thought he ran his blood to water.

Thought grixys post match interview was probably his most engaging to date , spoken from the heart and honest assessment . More of the same for next year. Probably a good time to sit down with a trusted person and review the good decisions and those which with hindsight could have been better. All the best looking to improve for next year.
