You'd think if there was ever a case to use DR it would be for games like these. What an utter waste of time, get it scrapped so we can all focus on our own lads.
Hard to drop anyone after the way they played last week.
SG just rewarding performing with playing and adding the returning trio of Elliot, Tom and Ed.

Spot on. One of the toughest games of he season and we don't use it, utter madness.

Who would you have left out?
Horses for courses for me.Swinton at home and i'd echo your thoughts. The reality is we are 2/4 from playing 3 ordinary/poor sides, this week is a different level. Some of our squad should be nowhere near a fixture like this and i could easily make a case for any of,Gilmore,Morris,Garside,Barber,Davies(2)Mcgrath,Calcott,Fleming not been involved if there were 3/4 quality alternatives available, which is how DR works when utilised properly, not the half-arsed confusing method we use.I accept anything can happen in live sport but we get off to a poor start with that squad and a 40/50 point tonking is again on the cards.

Not really my thoughts just echoing what SG had said, that he would reward performance with being picked, nothing confusing about that and once he said that he has to stand by it to have any credibility.
Also we have no information of who these 3 to 4 quality alternatives Huddersfield are, as you say it’s an “if”.
How can we say that’s how DR works, on a “if”, it’s just guessing at best, wishful thinking at worst that then becomes a point of criticism when that option may not even exist in the first place!
Straw man comes to mind.
It’s then further reasoned that because we haven’t used these “if” players we should sack DR completely and concentrate on our own players but when we do, like for this fixture, several of them shouldn’t be anywhere near it and we’re going to get a 40 to 50 point tonking.
We can’t compete with any club having X times our spending power.
Stand alone, strength wise we are where we are and the club are doing their best as will the lads on Sunday.

Featherstone did last season and came within 10 minutes of doing Toronto with all their advantages.....they did it with regularly using 4 super league standard players in their squad to bridge the gap in abilities within their squad. My view is we do the same or not use it at all.
Quote: A lot of what I say is a wind up, I have many Fax friends,a very good one who is a Director at Fax,I’m gutted I won’t be at the game on Sunday but I’m only going to see 1 game in March as my daughter is performing in Liverpool and London .I really hope Sunday’s game is a good one , our pack has impressed me a lot recently,I predict a big future for young Lewis Bienek our prop.Stay lucky. .
Not preseason though Ian (no posting then old pal, just silence) when Mr B had allegedly walked and Fax had to step in and save King Kev from becoming destitute when he had not been paid and just dumped by Deggsy.
What's coming forth compered to impoverishment? Charlie Knows.[/quote] I presume by King Kev you refer to Larroyer..?He was hardly dumped, as I understood it when Leigh didn’t make the top5 from the previous season Derek let a fair few players go to other Clubs or stay on reduced contracts ,Larroyer, Evans , and another player whose name I can’t think of refused both options and threatened court action, it was sensibly avoided when Larroyer signed for Fax , Evans went to Bradford I still can’t think of the other guy. Derek however regained his appetite for Leigh because nobody was interested in buying his shares,at the end of last season he put a few pounds in to try to win the play offs including signing Kevin Brown, but it failed. This season Derek has kept a low profile , let Duffy get on with the job ,and it’s paying dividends, I do predict we may enter the transfer market again IF we get into the top 5.I do hope this helps, as for myself?Hardly close season silence, I just don’t see Fax as one of our competitors for a top 5 spot this season. However you never know after your York victory.Im hoping for a good game , but after seeing our Squad it seems a very strong 17 will turn out.. I will be at the Shay for the return fixture. And I’m very disappointed in Hudd Shays stance on a Fax boycott.Cmon Pete don’t give up.

Well insisting that there will be 4 SL standard players available every week isn’t how DR works.
Regardless, the coaching staff sit down and look at all the players available for selection any given week from their own squad, on DR and loan deals etc.
They then pick the strongest team from those.
Simple really and I can’t see why SG or any other coach would not do the same but it’s inferred that he leaves out better players and deliberately weakens the team, it just makes no sense to me.
No doubt in one of the pre or post match interviews SG will be asked the question, “why no DR this week” so I’ll wait and see what he says.
