FAILURE ISN'T ABOUT FALLING DOWN, FAILURE IS STAYING DOWN..........

Re: bulls going bust : Tue Mar 27, 2012 10:41 am
I take it that the Bulls don't have the required "sugar daddy" SL clubs now have to have to survive.....

A degree in Governance and Business Management at Leeds Met must be worth jack all at the moment.

And Behold, a pale horse. And on his back his name was death.

The weekend starts on a Monday.

RFL will step in otherwise all they'll just be left with is a giant hole in the ground. It seems the main factor is that their bank has pulled a large part of their overdraft, but it begs the question why they'd do that all of a sudden? Poor credit rating I would guess which would point to this problem having been steadily creeping up for some time.

Anyway, it's all Iestyn's fault apparently lol.

You can guarantee something will come up. The bulls wont be allowed to go pop, and they will remain in SL.

They should have their SL license revoked.

i agree with you 100%

when the finance prejections of all the clubs applying for SL were reportedly checked by 'experts' earlier in the year, and Halifax' prejections were described by many as fantasy, what must they have thought to the bulls figures?!

we deserve a full enquiry about this process!

without a doubt .

the fans of Rugby League deserve an enquiry as to how such a mess has been ignored.

Re: bulls going bust : Tue Mar 27, 2012 12:49 pm
When I bought my Fax season ticket this season for £140 some of my work mates who are Bulls fans gave me a hard time saying that the ticket was too much just to watch a Championship team as they were all getting deals on their tickets being so cheap.
Well if you dont put your own money into you club this happens. I told them that Fax dont have big backers to subsidise our season tickets and i was glad to put my hand in my pocket for my club. Well, it looks like the Bulls didnt have a backer either and now their stuffed. I dont want to see clubs go to the wall but SL has proven that to get in all you had to do was lie and now its falling apart.
Bring on the Championship, all our clubs get together go our own way from Red Hall, get our own TV and media coverage and do it all above board with people in charge who love our sport and want to see it thrive and who are not out for free dinners and to promote their own personal exposure.

Very good opening post on the Warrington forum:

Its only a few years ago that the Bulls were riding the wave of success, Trophies and Finals galore, Large Crowds, Fantastic Highly paid players, Season Ticket Holders in abundance and a fantastic youth system (still in evidence today).

So what happened, The fantastic players retired or moved on for more money and were never replaced sufficiently. Performances and success quickly evaporated and so did the fans not to mention sponsors. There is still a core of fans, as at most clubs, who will attend and support come what may but it must be said that most people will only support an attractive proposition who entertain and more importantly win. Its human nature.

Will Warrington suffer the same consequences? Im sure the current powers that be will probably argue not, just like the powers that be at Bradford during their glory days probably did. Warrington are currently on the crest of a wave but what would happen if form is lost when the ageing squad breaks up, what happens when Tony Smith leaves and we lose the ability to win and perform. What happens if Moran decides to withdraw his investment and support.

My worry is that everything is geared towards attracting 'new' season ticket holders, the value offered to people willing to commit to a ST is fantastic to be fair. But what about the ordinary longstanding fan who cant commit to a ST? Well I can tell you that If you dont commit to a ST then watching Warrington becomes very expensive.

When Warrington suffer a dip in form, which they will at some point ala Bradford, all these 'new' ST holders, glory hunters if you like, will slowly start drifting away. Maybe then the club will realise that punishing the ordinary fan was a very foolish approach.

There is a saying that you should respect everyone on your way up as your sure to encounter them on your way back down. Warrington Wolves should sit up and take notice before its too late.

The truth of the matter though, is that the current custodians of Warrington Wolves probably wont be around when the proverbial hits the fan and it will be left to someone else to clear up their mess.
