Blaming the fans is not the answer.

No, this is not the worst season ever by a very long way. There have been some great moments. However, I can say that in well over 30 years I have never seen a team play so far below what it is capable of as this one.

The most I ask from any team or anyone is that they give it their best shot. No one can tell me that this is currently happening. We have the best squad in the league and anything close to reasonable effort would not have resulted in four straight losses.

Conceding 50 points at home and gaining a bonus point is not good enough. The player who made that comment to Chris Smith should just leave now - that is a loser's mentality.

I will not be giving up on the team nor will I be abusing them. There are, however, a few of the players who clearly need their egos bursting.

A great situation has been wasted but we are not finished. We can still reach our goal. But come on it's down to the coach and players to win the fans respect back. One good win at Batley and we'll suddenly be a band of brothers again.

Halifax RLFC? It's not dead, it just smells funny!

FAILURE ISN'T ABOUT FALLING DOWN, FAILURE IS STAYING DOWN..........

: Fri Aug 14, 2009 8:53 pm
I've recently refrained from posting much on the messageboard because of a few factors, one of which I'm connected to the club in an official capacity and another factor is that, whatever we say or think as supporters won't help at all with the current downturn in the squads' form.
I also don't like posting negatives, sure I'm pi$$ed at losing, sure I'd rather win ugly, sure I'd rather we hung in for a bonus point when losing, but I don't see as me posting on a messageboard will inspire the coaching staff or players onto victory.
I happened to drop into the office this morning on a little bit of business and I bumped into Hilda washing the kit, heart & soul of we volunteers, DEVASTATED ! We go back a long way me & Hilda, we care about the club/players/performances & everything that goes with it, we are one so to speak.
I go into the office and I cannot believe the comments being quoted from the messageboards about sacking Matt, but it wouldn't just be Matt would it, there's Proccy, Bally and Gonzalez, they're a team.
Comments about Calland wearing a BLACK TRACKSUIT !!! Perhaps his washing machine's broken and his down on his $hitty luck right now, we all know how it goes I'm sure.
Hally has done a runner !!!
Drinking culture !!!

Good grief, maybe I should cease reading & posting on the messageboards, worst season ever ???
Look at the attendances at Workington, Rochdale, Oldham, Keighley, Hunslet for recent games, we're really not that badly off.
And just for a comparison, I wish we had a Ken Davy, Des Johnston to throw money at our club, but we haven't so we're reliant on folks working their tired a$$es off in the good name of Halifax RLFC, Am still proud of my club and hope to be at the front of the queue for a GF ticket to watch us beat whoever we are playing against.

I agree great post and Im going to remember this post and learn for it and control my anger at losing and if I cant Im going to have to give up going to games (still donating the money to the club for a season ticket).

As someone who is close to the club, I can tell you that it is very disappointing for us in the office to come in the day after a loss, and, remain positive and try to "Sell Halifax RLFC." It's even more disappointing to read some of the posts on this web site. Knocking the players helps nobody.
Rumours about why we are losing, for example Martin Hall hasn't left the club, he's actually taking advantage of school holidays to go on holiday with his family in Mexico.
The players are very upset, just like the rest of us, and, yes I get very upset.
It's a difficult time, but to read some of the things posted doesn't help.
Infering that this is the worst season ever is just stupid. I think this is one of the best seasons I've attended.
Lose by a single point to a Super League Castleford, and, being applauded by the Cas fans has got to be good.

If you think after losing four games that sacking the coach and the board is the way to go, we'll never achieve anything.
We should all be doing everything we can to help our players. See you all at Batley.
Malcolm P

I'll be there and will drag a few mates with me as well.
Proud of Fax this season. no team turns up to play bad just an honest bad patch were going through.
Bad patches make the good patches feel better.

Keep entetaining us Fax - can't wait for Batley game

bottom line is any team is going to lose games,

its the mannor in which we have lost the last four games that is upsetting!

From a spectators point of view - to team has gone from winning week in weekout to losing week in week out

Agin from a spectators point of view the team deos not seem to be gelling the way it was 10 games ago!

Something is wrong and its down to the coaches and players to put it right!

all i am asking for is a good match day experiance with a team that is competative, right now that is not the case!

and for the record i am 100% behind my club - but something is just not right at the moment!
