Maybe you are correct.

But your (and others) singularly bias recorsding and failure to accept that what was seen and heard from Fax fans was any different to that by fev fans on our visit to Fax earlier this season is one of the reasons I will NOT be visiting Fax again.

I'm 50 and have NEVER abused or assaulted anyone and chose to support Fax when they were in times of need. No more. I'm sure Fax will manage without my 20 quid or so. Sod it. Others may or may not choose to follow a similar stance.
You have your opinion and have chosen to exercise your right to visit Fev or not.
I believe it's time for me to do the same and refrain from visiting Fax.

I think you will find the crowd figure is re published in the next day or 2, there was many more than that there, the chairman did not pack in because of the reason you state. Fax have some of the most antagonising bunch of little shiiiiites that i have ever encountered, but it would never stop me going to a game. Fev fans sing anything and its intimidating, with Fax its banter even if there singing the same songs. The other year when we played at the shay there was a thread with many of you moaning about the chavs that would gather in the stand hurl abuse and throw things at other fans.seems to be forgotten by many on here

Good grief man. Dont you go boycotting stadiums.

I too am in my 50's and have never assaulted or abused anyone, so there we are similar. I was at the Shay for the game and from the East stand I didnt hear any of what you say was said by fax fans, but I accept that it was said because you said you heard it.

I have only ever reported what I see or hear and my perceptions of the overall experience at Post Office Road this last weekend, but I have said, on the other form, that I agree it is time for the two clubs to put a line behind what has gone on and get on with supporting their respective clubs.

I do understand that it is all about choice and choose to follow my team wherever they may be playing, you absolutely have the right to choose to stay away, but I doubt it will solve anything.

I will be at post office road for the semi-final, and who knows we may even be playing each other come the end of the season (fingers crossed).

Ive been banging on about this for ages but the two clubs should have been working together to do something about this problem. One idea would be to sell tshirts promoting the game as a family sport and that violence by fans will not be tollerated. We may follow different teams but in the big picture the true fans are on the same team. The clubs missed a big opportunity i fell.

Re: Fev 30 Fax 18, full time : Wed May 18, 2011 11:07 am
Not had a chance to look at the forums since Sunday when I was on the coach home. Surprised to see nine pages on this thread about the usual talking point.

After a couple of days reflection I thought the day passed with no major incident I saw. We sat with Fev fans in the bar before kick off no problem, can't remember much aggression of note. Yeah their was the chanting but we aren't angels. 'if you really f ing hate em clap your hands' aimed at the cattle isn't our finest moment to be honest.

I enjoyed the day and we should have won. The only comment I feel I need to raise is that the idea of segregation was pointless as once through the gate nothing was different. Nor should it be at a rugby game.

Fev clearly know they have an issue and at least tried to do something. My only concern as a bloke in his thirties as we were leaving from the bottom of the ground to the furthest part of the stadium to our car park was when one of the Fev coaches, kit man or trainer, sorry not sure who he was but a nice guy, said to me and the little fella who everyone knows, I think you might be best following me guys as you are about to bump into a large group of Fev fans coming the other way. He took us out of the main gates to the bus. Nice gesture and it just highlighted the fact that the segregation outside didn't help inside. I'm not saying owt would happen, or that it did, its just a shame a club and the people involved in it would have to do this.

Don't be put off going to the semi, It just needs thinking through better and for everyone to try and get some perspective back and try to move on. I hope the Fev club can sort things out, I enjoy my away games and won't ever be stopped from watching my team.

That was Paul Gibbins, AKA Bluebeard! He's a top club man - Fev thru n thru - and a thoroughly nice bloke! I'm asked to post a thank you for your comments!

Good to see FAXFOREVER had a good time there. I have followed rovers for a good few years now and I have seen nothing but amiable banter between fev and fax fans. I am bored of this topic, however I have joined the RLFANS forum just to put this reply, as I am sick of my club being abused and demonised.

I went to the final last year and saw NOTHING apart from the scuffles that broke out between fev fans and stewards when the fax fans filled the pitch. These were 'rovers fans' I had never seen before, and probably jumped on the bandwagon for the final. Maybe some were fans from the other clubs who were playing, as they didnt all have shirts on. To try and keep a good club image, I helped the stewards control the situation, and even though I was wearing rovers colours, still got lamped with a couple of half hearted punches by a couple of kids who couldnt handle their drink. This is the worst I have ever seen, but really was not that bad. I have hand on heart never seen a fight between fans a our ground or any other...maybe I am not mixing with the right people!

Some of our fans are embarrassing, sometimes they even use swear words  but so do all other clubs.

I have heard nothing about who attacked Dave singer, but I have been listening for any information that might be useful; all I know is that someone from pontefract was arrested and not convicted.

For Fax fans to stay away from a heartlands team for this one incident, however abhorrent, harms not just my club, but the whole sport. The attendance was shocking, and actually probably worked against Fax, as at one point when you were only 2 points behind fax could have maybe done with a push from a vocal hardcore away following. I just hope that it is mostly down to your teams performances, and some of your fans wanting to find a reason not to travel that so few came.

I will always remember when rover were promoted back into this league. We were stood with two fax fans who went to leeds uni there; they were supporting rovers, in their fax shirts. When we won, they celebrated with us like it was their team, and when I asked them why they said:

'we're both yorkshire teams mate, and we all have to stick together'

This rugby league brotherly mentality has stayed with me ever since...and long may it continue.

Reply to the excellent and balanced post by Birchy.

Yes my first time as a Halifax fan on the forum and it is time to move on from Featherstone.

The Fev club recognises there are issues and are genuinely trying to resolve them . No doubt they are looking at the gate receipts and know that they have to rebuild trust.

Halifax have had their "stay away" protest but its time now to plan to go to the NRC semi finals and back our team. You never know we might be able to shout forward and get the ref to stop Finn floating yet another long forward pass !! We might also stop some of our own players wingeing to the ref as well!!

A much better defensive structure for 90%of the game . Time for all the players to listen to Brian Noble. Mouths shut to officials , do not give away stupid penalties, play for each other and give it your best shot.

Now that sounds like a wining gameplan.

That's basically what has been said by me and others on here, I will be there at the semi shouting them on.

I went to the game, I was sat in the "family stand" and had to endure a woman in front of me that could not sit down and mentioned matches more than once. I did think that one of the things that the players lacked was the crowd. I do think that it would have made a difference.

I have also got to say that their are lots of true supporters at fev and they also need the help of away supporters to drive the Idiots away from their club.

To all you fev supporters can you please get your club to get a better burger van that sells proper hot dogs and burgers and not just pie and peas.
