As for Fev, they couldn't beat Hull's kids, whereas our reserves have just beaten Wigan's first team 42-16!

Looking at the Wigan board it was the reserve side.Friendlies teams can start fast and others slow and I would not look too much into friendlies.

Yes Matt was being a little frugal with the truth, however our starting squad included several of our juniors, and if you had taken Tommy Gallagher out of the equation the pie juniors were bigger, heavier and probably being paid more than our team

You're up early Andy - early morning or late night mate?!

It was the pies under 20's with a sprinkling of older players (Gelling, Dudson) but we genuinely had 8 under 21's in our starting 13 with a couple more youngsters off the bench so it's certainly fair to say that we weren't at 'full strength' either.

Hi Matt I like to keep in touch with the championship as I think a decent standard.I may do some Scouting for Widnes. I was working nights mate.

I think this season will be a humdinger for fev , fax and the leythers I think either could be crowned champs, the Mickey mouse train cup ? Well im not fussed who takes that to be honest.

If you ever got to a choo choo final then you'd be fussed!

As I've posted on here before, I think I'd probably take another NRC win over winning the Grand Final, if offered a choice. Just seems so much of a bigger event these days.

We will break our duck and win it this year matt,but ithink winning the league and GF is a bigger test of a team

Fev are my favourites as they have a settled squad and coach. Fax, Batley and Leigh have gone through some big transitions and likely will take time to gel. Leigh have done well to keep most of last years squad together and have like Fev some quality youngsters coming through. Thats something Fax currently are a bit behind on. Batley as well. I think Fax and Batley will both take time to gel, but then when the business season starts in late summer will be serious challengers to Fev and Leigh. Sheffield will also be up there and again have a very settled squad.

I think everyone would rather win the Grand Final but as a day out and venue it's rubbish compared to Blackpool.
