It's not really when you put things into perspective.

Widnes needed a stand of their own because they had well in excess of 1,000 fans making the journey. Fax cant claim to bring anywhere near this number.

It wouldnt make sense financially to open a stand for 250 fax fans, With stewarding costs, Bar staff costs etc. Again you could make a profit with enough fans but not for what we are probably expecting from you.

The Stobart stadium is much bigger than the Shay in its current state. The only team we open the away stand for is Leigh because they can bring the kind of support that makes it economical.

I would much rather they opened the away stand, it helps the atmosphere and keeps the overly drunk sections of both our support separate.

Out of interest how many Fans are you expecting to bring on Friday?

And i just want to point out im not trying to have a dig, the above post just seemed a little stupid when taking everything into consideration.

Certainly not enough for you to open a stand for us. Might have been a few more with an 8 kick. That extra half hour could prove crucial coming over the M62 at that time!!

ah. But the north stand was opened for the widnes supporters in the challenge cup game, and there weren't 1000 fans that night. Still a good following mind, but that can't be used as leverage.

Of course it can, If a team is only expected to bring 300 or so then you dont open up an entire stand for them. Widnes did bring close to 1k for the challenge cup tie if i remember correctly.

We are the best supported team in NL1 Both home and away and expectation will always be to open up the away stand for us.

As i have said i would want them to open up the away stand for you, helps the atmosphere by keeping you all in one place.

But with a Friday 7:30 kick off that has probably more than halved the number of Fax fans that would come to the game so it may turn out to be a sensible decision.

I just hope we have a cracking match that we manage to sneak, but i get a horrible feeling Mr Black is going to punish us and Fax will take the spoils.

The reason they are not opening up a stand for you is casue you only ever bring 200 fans away at the most if your lucky. Widnes are the best supported team outside super league and the best.

I reckon there will only be about 350 from Fax cos of the time tbh.

Also, whats with the silly over inflated figures Widnes fans give for there games at the Shay?? 'atleast 2000 for the NRC game' :? there was only 4,000 in the crowd. And 1,000 for the challenge cup game, again, the crowd was 3,300 for that. Id say 1,000/500 respectivly. Both very good turnouts, but i hate it when people (any team in sport that is) talk rubbish about how many they bring to other stadiums, it's never as many as they think. Think they all get a bit excited about things.

all this crowd talk is utter drivel. We should settle this like men and compare schlongs. In the case of a tie break, we should compare dads.
