Only if you started supproting them months ago should you not be used to losing massively. Remember your brilliant last season in super league?

eh up dalton you have been watching rugby a good few years but probably not in excess of 50 as I have.
Your grasp of the game is I think flawed as I read your comment on the Widnes forum where you describe Sundays win as emphatic.
Get real man. That game was a classic and could have gone down to golden point or whatever. Widnes just edged a tremendous game.

It can still be emphatic even if its a close game. My grasp of the game is fine.

I remember it fondly as it happens. It was the time when the club finally faced up to the fact that it was carrying a massive historical debt ( around £500,000 IIRC ) and that the time had come to face it as it was not going to go away. This was done and EVENTUALLY ( before you dig up the begging buckets scenario ) the club was put on a stable financial footing as it remains today.

It's funny how people only seem to remember that one season and not the 7 other seasons we were in SL in which we were competitive.

It's your grasp of the English language that he was inspecting via your use of the word "emphatic"....

All that info is fine, I wasn't going to bring up the buckets. I was responding to someone who claimed Fax weren't used to losing. We're both teams very used to losing!

Why you've taken this one so badly is beyond me considering.

The greater the expectation the greater the disappointment. As you pointed out we became rather used to losing. This year we've had a winning streak that equalled a century old club record consequently expectations and excitement grew.

................and it's still there as far as i am concerned. I don't care what the one match wonders of Widnes think. We lost by five points on Sunday and played poorly. Our players are still as good as that 13 match winning streak suggests. I'm confident that we'll take our place in the Grand Final and with a steadier approach we'll win it. My main concern is next year. Others will get stronger and we must too but at least the language coming out of the club on the future playing front is positive to that end. I'm disappointed by our reaction on these boards but i'm as much amused at the Widnes reaction. If i was coming on here cold after a spell in solitary confinement i would automatically assume that the season had ended on Sunday and that Widnes had won their Grand Final.

Perhaps they have.
