Is this something for Fax to look at in inviting Brit Pakistan RL to play a warm up game before our game? Notice a number of Halifax lads in there. Is number 22 a real player??
No I'm not racist in the slightest but its the kind of name someone could have thrown in just to see if anyone else notices.

???? Ikram Butt was the first Muslim to play for a Professional England National team in any sport I believe. Ikram played at Leeds Rhinos and Fev Rovers and was one of the toughest and best English Centres in his day. Also a decent bloke apparently and has done probably more than anybody in trying to develop Rugby League amongst the Asian Community. I think he is working for Leeds Rhinos in developing the game amongst Ethnic Minority People in the Leeds area. Ikram has a Brother Tony who also played at Leeds a few years back

Ikram is a development officer in Bradford. He is a thoroughly decent chap if slightly disorganised at times. I remember him playing more as a winger then a centre though! Tony actually played for Leeds before Ikram but because he had an english first name it wasn`t noticed so much. Ikram wrote a book I believe can`t remember the title.

Thanks for the replies.. as I said it just sounded like a made up name. Unfortunatley I hadn't heard of the bloke in question but I'll take your word on it that he was a top player.
