Just heard the news and went to check to see if still on as game two of state of origin on tomorrow and they've stopped broadcasting in the uk. does anyone know if anybody else will broadcast australian rugby league.

Ceased Broadcasting at 6, Setanta Ireland is still on though apparently.

Don't know who/if anyone will pick up the NRL rights.

ESPN have snapped up the rights to the premier league.They are paying about 100million for the coming season which is about 30m less than Setanta.They are then paying about the same for the following 3 seasons.It will be interesting to see if they will sell its channel through Sky or other pay television platforms.I suppose if they go for a dedicated pay channel they may look for other sports ie rugby league.If not Sky might be tempted to show the nrl but it they do , they might feel they are broadcasting enough rl and could stop showing the co-op action.

ESPN have confirmed they'll be broadcasting on the Sky Platfrom, I presume they'll also go on the Virgin Platform too (where Setanta was included in the sports package)

Don't know if Sky will show the NRL, and if they do it won't be to the extent that Setanta did

Also, the SOI is scheduled to be shown on Setanta Ireland (as this is still being broadcast) so it may still yet be available for us to watch on Sky

Yes be good if sky went under then celtic and french dont get the sky money and the corrupt rfl.I never buy the rfl programme they never get a penney off me.
