Toulouse away : Wed May 13, 2009 11:36 am
Been speaking to Whitehaven re their experiences on the Toulouse trip

a couple of things that might interest those that are going;

*Novotel hotel is "superb"
*ground is a 25 mins walk from the hotel, or 3 stops on the metro
*Two english bars locally, "george and Dragon" and "Melting pot" both good
*BUT beer is expensive anything between 6 and 10 Euros a pint
*theres is a supermarket near ground, beer cheaper and Whitehaven were allowed to take beer into the game
*Theres a VERY NOISY brass band that plays throughout the game
*Wine is cheap
* When Whitehaven went just about everything was closed on the Sunday

hope this helps

Would definitely recommend the Melting Pot. Should still be a Leigh flag in there, all going to plan :lol:

And the Ryanair flights have gone up twice in the past couple of weeks. Anybody taking kids, the Novotel and Crowne Plaza seem to be the only places you can get that do family rooms (more than 3 to a room).

We're flying out from East Midlands on the Friday morning and stopping in the Novotel for 2 nights.

NB - There are 2 Novotels in Toulouse, one in the centre and one near the airport. The one near the airport is across the river and the furthest one away (providing I'm looking at the right stadium!).

Depends which ground you're playing at, as the one we played at was nearer to the airport than the city centre. Dead easy to get around the place though - the Metro system is spot on and the buses aren't bad either.

Is that the place with the yellow and black canopy? They were queuing 300 yards when we passed so we went down the road to a different steak place instead :lol:

That band better not be as annoying as the Fev one. My god they were getting on my nerves in the second half.
