Every RL club is running on fine margins, living month to month, one letter or demand away from been in the mire.

Only going to get worse, there's less and less central funding, less revenue coming in, and costs constantly going up. The employee national insurance contributions is going to hit some clubs hard next year. Im sure TonyFax mentioned on the accounts thread some clubs have over 100 employees, that's going to be a huge cost increase

Copied from shaymen.net , the site I'm banned from apparently

Extract from a League Express interview with Fax chief executive Damian Clayton. Published today on totalrl.com:

“The Shay remains a crucial part of Halifax Panthers’ identity and the fabric of the Calderdale community.

“We are actively working with Calderdale Council and a group of serious, committed business leaders to establish a consortium-led plan to secure ownership of the stadium.

“Our shared vision is for the Shay to become a true ‘Community’ Stadium—a vibrant hub at the heart of Calderdale, serving not only as a home for Halifax Panthers but also as a space that delivers significant value to the wider community.

“Discussions with the Council have been constructive, and we are focused on presenting a compelling and viable business case that aligns with this shared ambition.”

With such problems mounting out of the continued use of The Shay, there had been suggestions that Halifax should look elsewhere to play their Championship fixtures.

However, that is simply not being considered, according to Clayton.

“Leaving The Shay simply isn’t an option we are considering. The Council has made it clear that any future owners of the stadium must maintain the provision of professional sport at this iconic venue, ensuring it remains a cornerstone for Halifax Panthers and FC Halifax [Town] and the community.

“The Shay is our home, and we are fully committed to making it work. Sustainability is crucial, and that’s why our ownership initiative is so important.

“It provides the opportunity to not only shape the future of professional sport here but also to enhance the stadium’s role as a thriving community asset for Calderdale.”

So now this is in the public domain it fits in with the behind the scene talk and efforts to get things resolved at BoD level, the Shay, financial issues etc and the "Big News" that's rumoured to be be going to break in the new year around the spring time but you can't say any more on that because of being sworn to secrecy about it !!!

Might be a good thing to see how things turn out as you never know until it happens if it will happen and we all feel right p*locks when it doesn't come to fruition.

As you say nothing is done till it's done however I would be surprised if Damien would be so transparent given his nature to be attached to positive news.
