Neil's Notes/Club 1873/Away Travel : Mon Aug 30, 2021 3:43 pm
Back to winning ways after last weeks disappointment at Widnes who themselves lost heavily at Whitehaven yesterday . Whitehaven in fact could have a big say who finishes 3rd,4th and 5th having to play both us, Bradford and Batley in the last 3 games. Other than the 15 minutes into the second half when Swinton scored their only points we were in control and saw some great long distant tries and backing up. In fact people might have missed the last try after the hooter sounded as we kicked the ball dead only for the referee to award Swinton a penalty. They decided to run the ball only for Zack McComb to pick up the kick through and go the full length
Scott Grix took the MOM award from the sponsors Chadwick Lawrence with the Thompson Gas Hitman award to another strong display from Jacob Fairbank. Half time draw winning number was 7230 for £198. Next Sunday sees another one of our top games of the season at Featherstone. The supporters coach leaves at 1.00pm. Adults £12 with juniors £6. The following week is our final away game before the playoffs at Whitehaven. As this could be my last game in organizing supporters away travel before my retirement at the end of the season I am subsidizing this and the fare will be £15 with juniors £8. We leave the Shay at 10.15am. To book on any coach please phone me on 07714488080 In Club 1873 the winning numbers are £25 voucher number 53 Andy Jack and £20 voucher number 7 Les Booth. The final draw for a 2022 season ticket will take place at the Batley game. I will still be running Club 1873 for next season and hopefully things will be getting back to some form of normality. As the season draws to a close we will be asking you to vote for your Player of the Season. Look out on the Club web site shortly for full details. I would like to thank everybody for your support for away travel and Club 1873 and looking forward to our final games as the season draws to a climax. Neil Arber neilarber43@gmail.com |
