Re: Bradford : Fri Jul 30, 2021 6:46 pm
Ordinarily you'd think you could just about muddle through with no half-backs but from experience we look pretty awful. It's not just that we don't have anyone steering us around the field, its also that we move people out of position to cover the 6 and 7. For example playing Pickersgill at 6 is not only providing a pretty ineffective stand-off, it's also taking away his attacking threat from fullback.

If you lose this you should be heartily peed off. Surely we're there for the taking so I'd say 30-4 to Fax.

Lilley named in the Bulls squad. For anyone who has had fractured ribs you know that they don't heal in 3 weeks so I really can't see him playing and they have named him to keep us guessing or we get to him when we have the ball because hes going to be in some pain trying to tackle.

Agree and I said something similar on the Bradford board. Seems a big risk to rush Lilley back.

Lilley will be expected to do everything on Sunday which is hard enough without painting a big bullseye on his ribs

You might think this is laughable, but we (Fev) are loaning 2 Wembley heroes (youngsters) to our nearest n dearest (C*s) for the week so they can get their game on this weekend.

Personally I’m okay with these short term loans if it means clubs are able to get games on (though I wish it wasn’t C*s) since It’ll give our players game time (if they play) and at least keeps the league moving forwards in what has been a difficult year.

Totally disagree mate, yet again it brings the game into disrepute. bradford have no shortage of forwards and moves like these just give folk another stick to beat our game with. Happy Yorkshire Day! :DRUNK:

I know where your coming from, and hope that once we come out of the other end of the pandemic that we can go back to the old loan system of a minimum of 4 weeks loan and no DR.

I’m going to enjoy Yorkshire Day, win, lose or draw. Hope you do too and Fax get the result today. :DRUNK: :DRUNK: :DRUNK:

Good win that and from a lovely forward pass. I do think we made hard work of it but I think our extra fitness and quality just got us over the line. It gives us a great chance of 3rd now but its clear we need some extra bodies in and we struggled when we had to rotate our bench. I thought Bradford taking the drop goal so early just reeked of them been out on their feet and thats pretty much how it were. Like Grix said though we keep winning ugly which is nice because I don't think we have played well for a few weeks now but at some point we are just going to have to step it up another gear.

Exciting finish to the game, great to have an atmosphere like that again. Both teams looked to be down to the bare bones player wise - thought their forwards especially England ran really hard and Lilley probably looked the best half on the field. Don't know what we're thinking not taking an easy 2 points in the first half - that and Harris's poor conversion miss could have cost us dear. Thought Mccomb had an excellent game on the wing but by mom by a mile was Salty who as usual ran his blood to water - delighted that he got the tries his efforts deserved.

I think Harris missing that kick played its part in those decisions. He just isnt a goal kicker but for the moment we are getting away with it until Robinson or Rawsthorne are back. Got to say Robinson either needs to be in for Grix next week or even on the bench as our 2nd hooker. There are not many teams we will get away with having the bench we had today.
