Please find attached information on our upcoming events at Halifax RLFC.
- Lunch with Stevo, Friday 15th May
- Information on Northern Rail 9’s Tickets
- National Family Week Event @ North Bridge Leisure Centre with ‘BIG FRANK’
Castleford Tigers v Halifax RLFC, Challenge Cup Round 5
It has been suggested that prior to the Castleford Cup game on 9th May, we have a lunch here at The Shay with the usual entertainment, then all go on a coach to Castleford, watch the game and come back on the bus celebrating a great victory!!
In order to see if this is worthwhile trip could you let me know whether or not you may be interested?
We are anticipating that the cost including meal, coach and match tickets (Stand Tickets if Castleford can provide them) to be around £50 (no more than).
Could you please let me know if you are interested asap so that I can make the necessary arrangements if demand is sufficient.
Courier Awards
As I hope you have noticed, there are three Fax Players nominated for Professional Sportsman of the Year in the Courier Awards – Frank, Shad and Ben!!
Voting ends this Friday – so can you please vote for one of the lads to make sure we get a winner!

National Family Week (Attachment) STOP PRESS The main event in Calderdale to celebrate National Family Week will be on Tuesday 26th May 2009 from 12.30 pm – 3.30 pm at North Bridge Leisure Centre.
It will take the form of a “FAMILY HAKKA” based on the New Zealand Kiwi Rugby Hakka. It is a traditional Maori form of cheerleading the purpose of which is to unify the group, motivate them and go into battle together with a frenzy of energy!
Our leader will be Frank Watene Halifax RLFC First Team Maori supported by Calderdale Community Coaching Trust. It is hoped that once the youngsters have learnt the Hakka we shall put them on the pitch at a Halifax RLFC home game to show off their skills.
All families are welcome to attend this FREE event which is jointly sponsored by the Calderdale Families’ Information Service. It is suggested that those families with youngsters who are wanting to take part bring along some refreshments.
