I thought Catic was due last week, read somewhere could have been Friday.

All sorts of rumours about his arrival date. Hope he's here before the Pie Men turn up on Sunday afternoon.

We knew it would be tough, and it certainly was.

Barrow were excellent, particularly in the first half, looking very lively almost beating us at our own game at times! If they hadn't bombed the few chances they had down the left in the second half we really would have been struggling!!

Second best at half time, but still in the game. A good 20 minute spell in the second was just enough, but hats off to Barrow, I don't think many will come away from there with maximum points.

It has already been mentioned that this, like last week's, was the sort of game that we would have gone on to lose in recent seasons, but there does seem to be a real desire within the squad - which is great to see.

Yes there were a few quiet performances but to play below par and pick up three points does indeed bode well.

Agree about Barker though. Hope there is much more to come from him. Didn't notice him until about 75 minutes when he went on a dazzling 5 (OK maybe 10) yard run down the right flank.

Oh, and wasn't the drive home that little bit better? It's been a while!

Well done Fax!

t.k.l is a crowd favourite at widnes because he always gives a 100%. i don't know why he gets slagged off so much.

I agree, he always gives 100% third man into the tackle giving cheap shots and playing against the spirit of the game - 100%.

Like Calland has said, tonight proved those who want to do it tough to get the win and those who will be passengers. A number of players didn't seem to have pride in the shirt.

I heard that Shad was cleaned out by good ol' 'Bandy Legs' Broadbent. Any word on this?

At the time it looked like the typical Broadbent attack to the head once someone had passed the ball.
