Back to Truss, more like disatruss !
She's like the opposite of King Midas.
Those 80,000 Tory members who thought that she was the best person for the job are pretty poor judges.
It's incredible that each time their leader fails, the somehow manage to find one that's worse.

What are the odds of her hanging on to mid 2023 and then Boris making a comeback ?
(Heaven help us all if that happens).

So, where do the Tories go from here? They won't want to do whats right for the country by calling an election - and I assume their own rules won't allow them to replace Truss without another leadership contest. We and they are in deep do-do, with no obvious way out.

The Tories are in till the next election which isn't for another year or two or three, so if by your schoolboy logic they are screwed then how are things glorious for the general public including your family presuming you haven't changed your opinion again.

Because the tories will be out and can no longer ruin the country any longer. I can see street parties galore once the tories are gone. The country will rejoice

It's like trying to knock a nail into a knot in a plank of wood talking to you, the Tories with a capital T btw will have at least another 2 or 3 more years in government, so if things don't change it's going to be difficult for the working class so how will people rejoice in that time which was what you implied in the first place.

The rumour is that they (the Tories) will select a single candidate to run as next PM, therefore negating the need for their members to vote.
Not very democratic but, we are in fascinating, unprecedented times.

The one thing is, Truss is going, going, going...................

It's strange that, Sunak said that, if she (Truss) went down the route of tax cutting, it would be a total disaster and he was absolutely right.
It seems utterly ridiculous that, we have the Bank of England putting up interest rates to try and cool inflation and The Tories cutting taxes to try and stoke some growth.
Rather strange, to say the least.
You have to feel a little sorry for Kwarteng, sacked for doing what his boss told him to do. Maybe a case for unfair dismissal ?

If the markets continue to fall after the sacking of the Chancellor, surely, she will have to resign ?
