Good to see him write a massive tribute to our majesty. Shame he didn’t apologise for making her sit by herself at her husbands funeral whilst he and all his mates mixed together getting smashed.

Whatever unfortunate events that may happen to him will be fully deserved

Johnson's piece about the Queen was top notch - herein lies his true talent - a superb writer.

The worst PM we have had in my lifetime.

And yet his speeches were usually dreadful.

He is a terrible communicator - and often his speeches contain stuff that go way above people heads - his ref. to Cincinnatus being one

Must admit the cincinnatus reference went over my head. Sadly he was never mentioned at my school or subsequent technical college. Google is my friend, seems like good old cincinnatus is an allround good bloke. As for Johnson one of my favourite authors and historian Max Hastings raised the red flag about Johnson becoming prime minister. He rightly forecast he would be a disaster.

Let's bear in mind when lauding this from Johnson that as Prime Minister he will have had that speech worked up and finely polished and re polished pretty much from the moment he walked into No 10 by the best speechwriters the government or Tory party has.

He's probably gutted he never got the chance to use it in his former capacity with the glorious trappings of office elevating it.

Probably so, just remember the Blair lady Diana debacle. I believe he was the one that christened her the peoples princess (vomit).
