The right wing's disinformation/fury complex keeps on rolling.

Since when has the Times been right wing? Or are you disputing the figures? Or more to the point have you actually read the article?
I'm not furious BTW, just interested why if they are not considered genuine refugees in the EU they would be here?

Forget the deflection tactics. Are you disputing the figures? If not , what do you read into them. Are you disputing the fact that the French put them in tents while we put them up in hotels?

Your desperation to treat other human beings in the worst way possible is quite terrifying.

But again, tell us what you think the "figures" mean.

Where have I said I want them treating in the worst possible way. I haven't. You're making stuff up again.
I've already told you what I think the figures mean.

I mean you literally indicated that putting people who had nowhere else to stay in cheap hotels was too good for them so sorry if that wasn't what you really meant.

And apologies again I can't see where you've told us what you think these 'figures' mean, could you point out the relevant post?

I said the French were putting asylum seekers in tents. I didn't say that's what WE should do.
Last post P18 for my opinion on what the figures mean

How many of those we accepted are from Hong Kong for example and how many are from countries like Syria for example. With regards percentages, the starting number is all important say for example we have 10 applicants and accept 7, France have 200 applicants which based on percentages quoted means they accept 50 if my memory is correct at 25%.

Yes the main point which the furymongers ignore is that France takes many, many more asylum seekers than the UK. The UK would rank 17th amongst EU countries - if we were still members - for the number of asylum applications we get.

But facts don't pay the political bills for right wingers. Their only path to power is sowing fear and hatred. So they pretend that the real issues the UK faces aren't the corruption of this country's economy by a tiny number of vastly rich billionaires or the hiving off our our nation's assets for a pittance. It's not the vast inequality, the crumbling infrastructure or the poverty. All these obvious things that are wrong with the UK bring us back to them because this is the nation they and their deliberately destructive policies have built.

So instead they drum up spurious BS about a small number penniless, desperate foreigners instead. And sadly it works over and over again with their base - who get red in the face and start regurgitating these silly stories like this one in the Express without taking a moment to stand back and realise how easily they are being played.
