Are you talking about legal migration or the relatively small issue of illegal migration? Or are you conflating the two like Tories/Kippers do into one big lump of "forriners", deliberately to confuse and enrage people.

As @Sadfish says, our chronic labour market shortages and basic demographics mean we are in desperate need of the labour that used to come in here to plug the gaps. That was before lunatics spent five years telling them to leave the country.

Yes, it's absolutely nothing to do with the chronic underfunding of services by the Tories who have been in power for more than a decade now. No siree, let's blame foreign people and lefties, how about the EU, do you still want to try blaming them?

You right wingers constantly demand people take personal responsibility. But you never, ever take responsibility for what you and the government you elected have done to our country. It's always someone else's fault: another country, another government, immigrants or lefties. Try and hold you to account and you get all snowflakey, complain about being picked on or the left wing media (LOL) or some other ridiculous trivia.

You lot have run the country for almost all of my lifetime. If it's a mess, which it clearly is, how about you look closer to home than blaming everyone else for what you've done?

Brilliant the forums quasi intellectual trots out the usual tired and stale cliche. Ref kippers, I voted reman, as for voting for the Tory party, that would be impossible as Cameron cheerfully extinguished the Tory party. Any remaining embers were stamped on by Johnson. No country in the world can absorb the unprecedented wave of migration the uk has endured without some repercussions.
You may care to comment regarding the proposed dumping of 1500 illegal immigrants into a camp at Linton on Ouse. The population of the village is 1200. The local doctors can’t take anymore patients ,obviously any medical problems will land in the lap of York hospital. When that is overrun you will be able to complain those disgusting tories have run down the nhs. Still ever cloud has a silver lining, we may get more bearded film critics, they have done a splendid job in Bradford banning a film none of them have seen.

Disguising fear and hatred of foreigners up in a laughable disguise of concern for the NHS. A classic that gets rolled out time and again. Strangely this concern for our health service disappears the rest of the time.

Wow, you're tarring a lot of folk with the same brush there.

I especially like the use of the word "them", when you refer to the banning of the film in Bradford, which I dont agree should be banned.
Maybe "them" refers to anyone with a beard ?

Do you think that sending ANYONE to Rwanda is a decent solution to the problem ?

This is all deterrent and no solution

The original site was in the constituency of one Pritti Patel however she argued that the area proposed did not have the necessary support. This was the same person who then decided it would be better to send them to Linton on Ouse despite it being smaller and lacking any support services. I would suggest therefore that the problem of the so called dumping of human beings is directly due to the current Home Secretary.

No that can't be right. Can we not blame the EU? Jeremy Corbyn maybe? "Lefty elites"?

Not certain about Rwanda being the solution to the problem, I merely stated that EU are paying millions to the Turkish government to house Illegal immigrants in camps. I have 2 friends that are going through an extremely expensive process in bringing family members to the uk. They are going down the official route. The process has taken 3 years, one successful outcome so far. The other still ongoing , probably be easier and cheaper to go to France and hitch a lift on the frequent dinghy service. Apparently major delays to official applicants are due to the thousands of illegal immigrants who have to be processed first. Perhaps you may have the answer to the problem?

I suggest the problem is illegal immigrants , doesn’t really matter in which part of the country they are placed. A decent hotel in York is full of them, I can fully understand the rush to get out of France, when the reward is a place in one of the countries nicest cities. As opposed to sleeping in tents in Calais. Anyway congratulations ,you have managed a posting without the mention of Boris Johnson

I expect you to shortly be on mastermind with your specialist subject being immigration and it’s impact. I am sure you have all the correct facts to hand rather than those spouted by Farage. I suppose you will be ok with the free movement from Australia and India which in both cases they include this in the trade deal.
I think your friends have highlighted the problem with the current system in so far as we do not have legal routes for entry to the U.K. and then when you apply the Home Office is completely ill prepared.

Not to mention the circa 3 million HK residents who have been told they can come ?

It's the shipping people off 4000 miles, to a country not renowned for it human rights that is wrong.
If this was China or Russia, we would be rightly pointing the finger and saying how it was wrong but, Ms Patel seems capable of almost anything and it's up to the decent folk in her party to keep her (and Boris) in line, something which, to date, they have shown little appetite for.

Incidentally, which country are your friends coming from ?
