Not really I voted Blair in the first election. I was really hoping for some change and felt positive it could be delivered in terms of a more tolerant and fairer society .

Initially there were lots of good things investment in public services and loads of new schools and hospitals . When I understood how they were being paid for and the consequences of it I was appalled

Minimum wage, FOI and human rights act, civil partnerships for gay couples were great.

But when he became a god bother and went into Iraq all that changed. He became so imbued in his sense of righteousness that he lost the plot. Possibly influenced by alistair Campbell.

By this time I began to loathe him and everything he has said or done afterwards has confirmed to me he is c***

Well well we agree unfortunately for you that's the nearest you will see to a socialist government in your lifetime

Thats Afghanistan done, lets move on to new news.

Those who have criticised Britains historical colonial past will be pleased that we have finally left Afghanistan and allowed Afghanis to decide there own future.

Bet the normal Afghans can't wait

Afghanistan certainly is done but, it will be the Russians, Chinese and others that decide it's future, not the Afghan people.
As for Britains colonial past, there will always be issues if we try and compare the actions of 150+ years ago with how we try to behave these days although, some people do seem to think that Britain still rules the world but, we are a little way down the pecking order.

We are, and that's why it's a positive that we aren't in Afghanistan any longer.

Personally, i think the Yanks left all that gear behind for the Taliban in order them to be able to fight any future incursions from any number of America's 'enemies'. Nobody could botch a withdrawal that badly on purpose.

Could they?

This is a country that historically has never had that, bar the last few years.
