It's ok, in the new Tory led world, it's ok to "mis speak" occasionally, Bojo does it all the time
Hancock didn't dole out the contracts himself but, he's certainly benefitting for his investment.
There seems to be so much going on at present, with Torie lining their own pockets and those of their friends and family, that, it almost doesn't matter.
It's like someone has left the doors to the sweet shop open and they are gorging themselves, at our expense.

I would also ask how many first class rail tickets would it cost to cover two vanity planes that have been used once. I regret Johnson has form on wasting tax payers money, £126,000 on pole dancing lessons, several million on a garden bridge plus several water cannons.
I regret his philosophy with regards to tax payers money has spread to the rest of the cabinet judging by the current cronyism and contracts for friends and sisters.

Are you suggesting the prime minister takes commercial flights - no doubt in economy? All countries have private planes for their leaders - its how they and their entourage travel - they cant hop on a Jet2 to Paris.

I think its easy to bash the Tories they are unfortunately an easy target.

And yet you'll bash Angela Rayner for travelling first class on trains. The funny thing is a first class ticket, if booked in advance, can be cheaper than buying standard class on the day. I've done it myself.

In addition to the two planes we can add £2.7m spent on a blue media room which apparently is not going to be used for the reason it was built. It would appear that they thought it best not to put a spokesperson in front of the media answering questions relating to statements made by Johnson which may need clarification.
The man is good at spending our money on his pet projects. It’s no wonder London was glad to see the back of him as mayor before he bankrupted them with his ridiculous ideas.

As Downton said on the TV today - the room was not fit for purpose so needed an upgrade - not sure how you spend £2.4m on one room but then when its not your money I'm sure its easily done.

It can be but I doubt Ms Rayner takes that opportunity.

Don't forget there are often a huge group of public employees, journalists and other business people who go on these trips.

I suppose the challenge is - is it better to have your own plane and the prestige of that against the cost of hiring private planes whenever you need them. Finding sufficient seats on a normal flight would be a significant challenge no doubt.

The room they changed wasn’t fit for purpose but the one they used for all the pandemic announcements appeared to work adequately. It was a typical Johnson vanity project based on the US system, just like the two planes.

It reminds me of that episode of Father Ted "Kicking Bishop Brennan up the arris"

Just like Ted from that episode Boris & chums just flat out deny anything is untowards and a supine media lick the boot and let them get away with it.

Its almost as if spending someone elses money or "spaffing it up the wall" is in his DNA.

London garden bridge, water cannons ......

‘It is sad to see the PM and his office fall so far below the standards of competence the country deserves’ according to Dominic Cummings.

Sad but hardly difficult to predict, Dom. Weird how he’s suddenly worried about BJ’s integrity now the claims are about him (DC). Still, whatever it takes...
