Brian Clough on Champagne Socialism:

I have a nice picture of clough on a March for striking miners .

"Brian McDermott, with a wry smile, nods when asked if he remembers a specific incident which made him realise he was a prick. 'I do', he murmurs."

This sort of argument makes little sense. The problem is collective. Individual contributions to a collective problem don't address the issue. Indeed they are probably that thing Tories say they hate (but do all the time) - virtue signalling.

I wonder when the bailiffs will turn up at 10 Downing Street following its occupant receiving a CCJ, this must be a first and you must be so proud.

Almost every significant social improvement to working class lives in the past 100 years came from Labour governments. Why do you suppose the party which opposed, and in many cases continues to oppose those things, are the right choice for working people?

It's all about identity politics on the right now. Left of centre policies may be more popular but unfortunately for Labour that's pretty irrelevant.

So the clean air act was passed under a Tory government, Health and safety at work act all the work was done under the Heath government, factories act was a Tory bill, first housing act under the liberals - other than the NHS and minimum wage what have Labour done?

It could be argued by allowing union power to rise unchallenged they contributed to the annihilation of British industry?

Whilst, I would pay good money to watch the bailiffs remove his new sofa and furniture.
This is more likely to be a "supplier" who hasn't done what was wanted and Bojo will have dug his heels in.

CCJ's are as a result of someone who no longer has the ability to pay or, someone who doesn't feel that they should pay due to certain circumstances.

Much as I despise Bojo, he doesn't fit into the first category here.

Yes, a judgement has now been passed in court and he will have to cough up, probably very reluctantly but, this looks like another overblown "story".

They should keep digging though as I'm sure that they will find plenty of more serious misdemeanors.

A CCJ means a judge agrees that the debt is due and he had a month to pay. I believe that was six months ago. I suppose he wanted to experience what life was like for many under a conservative government, the next thing is that he will be having to collect food from the Harrods food bank. The food hampers given by the Sultan of Brunei were recently confiscated because they broke the rules so he can no longer rely on them.

You're more bothered with people who aren't in power than the people who every day are making policy and crucial decisions affecting your life?

Don't you ever reflect and think maybe your priorities are wrong?
