Government PR : Wed Jan 13, 2021 2:57 pm
I am no PR expert but the government with all its resources surely can do a better job.

Take school meals

Surely they could have engage a high profile chef to design a basket of good and a menu to make up two weeks' meals. All kids get the same basket. After two weeks change the chef new ideas new basket.

Same goes for schooling - a BBC channel for each year - same lessons for all - one presenter for each lesson - individual teachers can deal with those kids that need greater clarification.

There's a danger this sort of central government control, specifying what gets included, would eat into the margins of the basket contractor they have chosen through a non-competitive tendering process though and that is not in line with government policy at all.

Yeah, but how would the Tory donors working at the kind of up-for-anything firms, who get involved in this sort of thing, make money? It's not just about feeding kids, you know.

Sort of ironic that a black footballer, the type who get slagged off for buying their families better homes by the scum and daily Mail, is proving to be a better PM on a part time basis.

Many of the Tories seem to busy trying to line the pockets of their friends to even care about what is happening in the real world.
Firstly over Brexit and then subsequently over PPE supply and more recently over the free school meals.
Much of this work seems to miss out on formal tender and approval and it's become a feeding frenzy in the Tory trough.

There are some very undeserving folk getting very, very wealthy. No doubt they ill be doing their duty and donating to the party in due course.

Well this thread tells you everything that you need to know about Zoo zoo Boom and Wite-quin.

The issue for them is not that the taxpayer is being ripped off that children are being fed starvation rations (in place of school meals) that families are not given enough to feed or that corrupt, immoral companies are Taking advantage of others misfortune and misery.

No the issue is that they got caught doing it, it looks bad for the Tory party and they need better PR to manage the fallout

To be fair, if you look at the social media accounts of some of the photos that were posted, you will see one parent with about £200s worth of alcohol over xmas with the caption "get in my belly" and another parent with a photo of a brand new playstation 5 with the caption "Thats me sorted for lockdown"

I thought it was the LEA that have engaged these firms? How many of these are run by Labour councils?

Is this any different to the concessions that Corbyn would have given to the unions i.e. conflict of interest?
