That's a bit like Daily Mail bingo even for you. The democracy you surely cherish is built on the ability to have strongly opposing opinions without being forced to bugger off to South America.

Never read the Daily Mail, I am just fed up of old b/5tards running the country down, simply because we have abandoned the whole left wing ideals. They call out Boris, but he is doing his best, he is gradually ridding Whitehall of the age old pension grabbers. Have you ever had the (mis) fortune to work with civil servants?, they are not civil and the only person they serve is themself. Too many of them, paid too much for contributing nothing.

Imagine what a mess we would be in if Cringebin or Stammer was in charge. People using Covid as a political lever is pathetic, the unions want to keep schools closed and send already astronomical spending even higher, Labour have no actual policies of their own, just disagree with anything and everything the ELECTED GOVERNMENT do, it is a sad state of affairs to have no genuine opposition bringing people to account where necessary, but that is Labour, rabble with an outdated cause.

That’s the thing Boris is doing his best, the problem is the country has to suffer because he is clearly not up to the job. To be a PM requires more than just telling lies, talking positively and avoiding scrutiny.

Tony Blair taught Boris everything he knows then?

We haven't invaded a country without a UN mandate under Boris!

Yeah you've said this before. And as a Civil servant of over 25 years currently working on Covid for DHSC I absolutely and utterly disagree with every word you've said about my colleagues.

"Brian McDermott, with a wry smile, nods when asked if he remembers a specific incident which made him realise he was a prick. 'I do', he murmurs."

I'd hate to have been born IR80.
His thought process and narrowness of mind rigidity is astoundingly disturbing.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Frederick Douglas

Don't worry, as someone who works for an LA and has spent the last six months spending a lot of my time trying to fight the consequences of the virus it'll start on me soon, telling all and sundry that me and my colleagues do the square root of knack all whilst getting paid a kings ransom.

I don't pretend that my colleagues are on the same plinth as the frontline NHS staff, but it is dispiriting to see the level of dedication and the insane hours being worked by colleagues and to have them denigrated as somehow self-serving and ineffectual. We've been shoveling hundreds of millions out to the LAs for infection control, Kids Mental Health (which is a hidden timebomb caused by the lockdown) etc so I know how hard the staff in LAs are working too. I like to think that unless you have antipathy to us on ideological grounds that the average person knows we are doing good work. But hey, we don't do it for the plaudits right.

Only to left leaners, I have worked (well, I say worked, they pretty much shirked) with LA employee's for years. But nothing will ever convince the lunatics that Socialism is a failed ideal, born of hate and jealousy.

Isn't it strange that people may want to "call out" the government who are currently presiding over the highest death toll and worst economic performance in Europe and all of that on an open forum.
"Doing his best" may be true but, his best, just happens to be worse than the rest of Europe.

If/ when Labour are next elected, will you be congratulating them or, would you prefer to air your opinion.

Getting back to schools, it was THE GOVERNMENT who set out the distancing requirements that were needed in schools.
Even a fool with a short ruler would know that an overcrowded class of 30+ couldn't physically fit in the same space with 2 metre distancing.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of MP kids dont endure these conditions as their kids are taught privately in class sizes of 20 ish.

Perhaps if there had been proper investment in education, class sizes may have been somewhat smaller, making some of the neccessary changes a little easier.

Now, after yet another U turn, kids will go from being taught in "bubbles", to being much as before and we will then find out just how the infection spreads both among youngsters and their wider families - should be interesting.
