So he wants to be PM until then to see his policies through. Aren't we lucky ?

He will have to get an outright majority as the Lib Dems will be history in 2015.

The alternative is Milliband / Balls.

If you want to know what the country will be like with those 2 at the helm, take a look at what is going on in France at the moment. The place has gone to rat poop since Hollande got in.

What we have now is, relatively, reasonable when you compare it with what is going on in Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Spain and France.

So, no growth, continuing high unemployment, the demonisation of anyone on benefits (including those on in-work benefits), disabled people dying even though they're 'fit for work', government by u-turn, tax cuts for the very rich, deficit growing (because of the unemployment), all in it together, austerity policies that even the IMF says don't work, privatisation of the health service, of the police, the probation service and just about anything else they can manage, taxpayers subsidising the profits of big business through the so amusingly-named 'Workfare' ...

Sound brill – relatively or not.

Whopping big success story.

Now remind us again who caused the global financial crisis ...

Try telling that to the young couple who have just had their tax credits halved and cannot make ends meet. Mind you, there is some good news coming on April 6th, all those on a million a year will be 42K better off, perhaps they will 'adopt' a family.

Oh, that's just because they can't budget. Same with food banks – there's no need for them: they only crop up because the plebs cannot and will not budget, and prefer to spend their money on fags and booze rather than food.

Similarly with the charity arm of my main client, which has seen a massive rise in applications for school uniform grants and help with fuel bills, as well as debt counseling services: vast numbers of people going to those filthy, vile legal loan sharks – and then finding themselves even worse off the following month.

It's all hunky dory in the UK corporatocracy.

Re: David Cameron - 2020 : Mon Jan 07, 2013 5:14 pm
I am afraid "austerity" is what it says on the tin. Austerity is inevitable. The country had two main choices - unleash mayhem via mass home repossessions, etc and clear the system out quickly or fight to keep interest rates down and spread the pain over a decade or so (which we're nearly half way through). To pretend people in this were ever really as sustainably wealthly as they thought they were pre-2008 is frankly imbecilic. To pretend the prudent / wealthy are not paying to prop up the mortgage holders is again false - they are suffering via artificially low returns on their funds.

The problem for the government is that its cost of borrowing could well start to rise (and with it interest rates), as rumour has it (per the press) that significant sums may be about to shift out of government securities and into equities. We could end up with the scenario of long term drag on the economy plus mayhem. Not a great scenario.
