During Mr Redknapp's and Mr Mandaric's trial, jurors heard the Spurs boss received two payments totalling £189,000, into his "Rosie 47" account in Monaco - named after his pet dog.
The defence said the money was an investment made by Mr Mandaric while Mr Redknapp said he forgot about the account and had very little to do with it.
It must be nice to be able to 'forget' about the best part of 200 grand. I'm gonna try forgetting about July to December when I complete my next tax return, I think.

"So £8million spent on the Harry Redknapp case of an alledged unpaid 40% tax on a hundred odd grand and he's not guilty. Nice work people."
It does raise the question of whether pursuing the case was in the public interest given those figures. If they wanted to take a stand against tax evasion, I can think of much better targets than Redknapp.

That £8 million doesn't include the £1m spent by the FA investigation or the cost of City of London police before they decided to abandon any case. Someone needs to be asked: "who sanctioned the court case?"
Mind you, HMRC aren't exactly flavour of the month, the Publci Accounts Committe are less than impressed that they wrote off £11bn and the treasury were unaware. The £11bn does not include the Vodaphone and other major write-offs BTW

The HMRC have taken action to rake in cash from other sources other than the mega wealthy, they are nailing the ordinary working man instead, who has little means of fighting them.

The words of the nice man from HMRC outside the court had me muttering a rather rude word at the radio today - "to those who use offshore accounts to avoid tax let me suggest that you come and speak to us before we come and find you".
Its rather aggressive and confrontational language coming from a public servant who has just wasted a hell of a lot of public money on being proved wrong in court and sort of suggests that they are not at all apologetic and would/will do the same again.
Presumably there is some accountability of these people ?

Dont like Redknapp 1 iota. A very average footballer and an average manager. How many trophies has he won in his footballing career? And he's the next England manager
The bloke absolutely stinks, from his time at West Ham when he was telling his team to kick the ball straight into touch, as he had bet the opposition to win the 1st throw in, to the next Portsmouth manager fiasco, where he was accused of betting on himself to be the next manager, whilst denying any interest in the job, to claiming he did not know how to work a computer and did not have a betfair account, until Betfair said he did.
And now, he can't read or write??? really? Had no trouble reading the cheques he was given, and why the need to open an off-shore account under a false name, if he was more than happy to people his share of tax to the British taxman?
And to throw another spanner in the works, Mandoric was aacquitted a few months back of fiddling the taxman, and the case could not be reported in the press, until today. ( from 5 live)
Still, his time will come when he ultimately takes the England job, and inevitably, fails to win a trophy. the beloved ashlickers ( press) will soon turn on him.

A rather bitter rant, but I find myself agreeing with most of it...
To suggest that this means Redknapp is some sort of angel is ridiculous.....He is from the old school of football management, the same one that the likes of George Graham, Brian Clough, Fergie, etc, went to, where doing deals on motorway service stations, swapping brown envelopes, was commonplace.
Personally, I can't wait for his promotion to the England job, when his obvious managerial limitations will be exposed.
If you think McLaren was bad, just wait until Harry has his go at trying to make England successful....
