When your opinion rests essentially on trying to live off some reflected glory of World War 2, as if you fought in it, and some disturbing sense of national or ethnic superiority then you should expect to have it challenged.

I know it upsets our flag waving obsessives but Britons are no better or worse than anyone else.

Anyone who thinks the west is truly 100% with Ukraine is either a btec student or reads the daily mail/the sun.

Putin has forgotten Russia’s own recent history during the Second World War. The Russians like all individuals will fight harder when the war is taking place on your homeland. They themselves suffered severe atrocities and hardship but unlike the occupying force they had the resolve to see if through with arms supplied by the allies.
Ukraine could fall to Russia but not until they have a very bloody fight. The question will become do the Russian people have his resolve when the dead and wounded are returned,

Do you mean the west are not 100% committed to the Ukraine, or that not 100% of the west are committed, also I would suggest that there is a difference between being scared and being cautious.

Indeed and despite the massive loss in terms of civilian casualties, it would be a far better outcome if Ukraine could resist for long enough to make the Russians withdraw.
Mind you, I dont have Putin down as a leader that would want to walk away with a bloody nose.
Perhaps he thought that the Ukrainian's would roll over easily but, this doesn't seem to be happening.
