Trump remains in charge unless he transfer power to Pence and then if he cannot do the job the next in line is Pelosi.
If Trump drops out the the Republican Party needs to go through another selection process however Pence would usually be the automatic choice. With regards the ballot papers I am not sure what they will do because they don’t like to delay their elections.
