He changed it because he didn't like it - is that ok with you?
When you meet someone do you ask them if they have ever changed their name in their life and if they have do you then call them by their old name from then on, instead of their preferred new name?
Just bizarre.
Read Mintys post on why he changed it, you obviously didn't.
And why are you asking just me, its not just me who calls him Gideon, most of the media do!
Ah yes: Gideon – the name he decided to ditch as a teenager, because he (allegedly) considered it too Jewish sounding for a future prime minister.
Yes, because that's just how 13 year old's think.
Our next door neighbour refused to be called Rupert at a certain age, he's now called John. Probably something to do with not being remembered as a bear when he became captain of the golf club.

1. He's got his head screwed on properly and sees exactly what is going on and knows a false dawn when he sees one in which case you have to have confidence in him.
2. He's buying another twelve months low interest rates for Gideon.
There will always be a number of people who work part time who want to work full time. I suspect this is nothing unique to this point in time. Whether this 'means we have underemployment' is dubious. Having a job is better than no job at all.
Mark Carney was pursued for a long time by Osborne to head up the Bank of England, so credit must go to him for his appointment.
What is clear is that nearly every indicator of economic growth is now positive after the mess Labour left.
What is clear is you have been slapped down by none other than he governor of the Bank of England.
1. According to him 3/4m people have less work than they want (the underemployed) not because "There will always be a number of people who work part time " but because they can't find full time employment.
2. According to him the current economic growth is fragile and is not based on a rebalanced economy.
I suppose you have the economic cudos to disagree with this as well:
"None of this is to suggest that current levels of economic activity are acceptable or that the world economy is no longer under strain. After the Great Moderation and the Great Recession, there are several reasons why it will be years before any superlatives are attached to this recovery."
So here we have the governor of the B of E saying that and you shouting from the rooftops about the recovery.
Proof, if ever we needed it, that you are economically illiterate.
Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.
I think we'll make a lethal partnership after I've sorted your politics out. To be serious for a moment though, I have heard little Ajwy ... makes a mean cup of tea.
Let's stick with trying to remember the watershed. Mintball
You need to sort your own confused ideology out before you start to trying to understand anybody else's.
For the record - I have employed two young people in permanent jobs, one a poster on here and one a niece of a poster on here. If you don't believe me I will get the proof - so let's see how big your mouth is now.
The thing is the likes of you and Mintball talk the talk about lack of opportunity for young people yet do nothing practical about elevating that position. Come back when you can demonstrate your words are more than just talk and you have done more than just sit at a keyboard spouting complete b0llocks.

So you will call him George now then instead of his middle name?
No, I like calling him Gideon, its his Christian name, the one he was christened with, so I'll call him Gideon, its a nice name and it makes him sound like a toff and a bit Jewish so its win/win all along.

Well thats a shame too, Rupert is a lovely name and absolutely nobody would ever think he was a big white bear in checked pants if he ever turned up at the golf club in checked pants would they ?
I wouldn't, I'd just say "Hello Rupert" as I walked past and then when I was about ten yards away I'd chortle just loud enough so he could hear.
In fact I'd do that even after he'd told me his name was John.
Advice is what we seek when we already know the answer - but wish we didn't
