I wonder if, in the face of crises, he might realise he isn’t the second-coming of Churchill and be persuaded to do an Edward Wood? He could use the after effects of his COVID-19 hospitalisation to save face, and maybe we could send him off to be Ambassador to the US, or summat, like Wood was. He could walk away with an 1-0 GE record, and having got Brexit done. Then let somebody else, more competent (i.e. anybody, pretty much, even from the shallow talent pool of the parliamentary Tory party) could deal with the pandemic and the aftermath of it and the end of the post-Brexit transition.

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

I completely agree - I don't see him taking the Tories into the next election. I do see Hunt rising from the ashes - between him and Sunak

Good to see today's Covid stats, we had more coronavirus deaths than the rest of the E.U. combined.

Roll on January, we're absolutely smashing it!

Of course we did. Because we count deaths where Covid-19 is suspected, even if no test or a negative test is undertaken . Happened to my mums best friend. Rushed to hospital with a heart attack. 2 tests were taken, both negative. Guess what went on the death certificate. Most if not all the other countries, only count deaths that are proved to be caused by Covid-19. We are also 2-3 weeks behind the other countries of which, not all declare care home deaths or residential deaths.

The best baramoter is deaths per capita. if we adopted the other EU countries way of recording deaths, the UK would have the second lowest death rate per capital after Germany.

But dont let facts get in the way

Unless Sunak has some fiscal trick up his sleeve, he is likely to have to carry the can for the colossal debt that we have when we eventually establish some sort of control and normality.
Hunt may be a decent shout.

Never really liked him but, he is rather better than Johnson. Not as much charisma but, eminently better with most other things.

It's not even that its excess mortality which we will see in the distant future. Trying to compare apples with oranges which is what is happening currently is plain daft. Listen to the scientists!

Labour bail out the banks to the tune of half a trillion. Labour supporters - "Well done, What a fantastic gesture. Our government are fantastic".

Conservatives pay all the champagne socialists to stay at home, drinking beer in the sun for 12 weeks to a quarter of the cost Labour spent. Labour supporters - "Shambolic, what are they playing at. Disgusting behaviour from the tories"

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs, the people that came in. They're eating the cats! They're eating the pets!

I don't see where everyone is complaining about the Government furlough scheme, it's more to do with the handling of the virus.

Take off the rose tinted for a minute, stop trying to manipulate the stats & just admit the handling of this pandemic has been woeful.

Oh dear, Tory meltdown.

You are Boris Johnson and I claim my £5

Back on Topic, are you suggesting that the handling of the Covid crisis has been handled well ?
Remind me how our "world beating" (the words of Boris "liar" Johnson) test and trace system is getting on - it's an absolute joke.

People are dying now because of THIS Government’s lackadaisical approach to lockdown - just look at the care home and Cummings scandal FFS. How this has anything to do with Blair/Brown’s Labour from over ten years ago is nonsensical.
