Lockdown seems to have been over since VE Day round where we live. Through the day, people were sat in their own gardens and visitors had set up tables and chairs in the streets. By the time the drink had started flowing, and the music was turned up, people were in each others gardens, all the kids were playing together. It was just like any other street party. As the days passed by, the roads were getting busier, I noticed more and more visitors at houses on my dog walks, people were chatting face to face in the street.
When 'Cummingsgate' kicked off, that was it. The last week has just been like any old week. BBQs look to have friends and family in attendance, kids are in and out of the gardens and houses. One of our neighbours have actually had friends stay over for the night!
We live in a fairly small, semi-rural village with loads of green space. I dread to think what it's like on the sprawling urban estates where everyone lives on top of each other.
