Are there any historical stats around to show that over the years students generally met their teachers predictive grades
it is certainly my experience that most do end up with the grades that where predicted,, but I can't find any statistics, so it's just my view based on experience.

At the trust where I work, we have a trust wide system which records the predicted grades of every kid, every term. Historical data is stored for as long as GDPR allows. It can be searched using multiple filters, to the point that you can see extremely specific data sets of predicted and historical grades.
Personally don't think this was a mess up based on the Tories having an agenda. Think it was just a complete mess. The home nations have their own control over education,Williamson only has jurisdiction over England. Looks like all four nations(with different controlling assemblies across the political spectrum) adopted the same problematic algorithm. Not an excuse for the algorithm, but putting into context that neither Tories/Labour/SNP or UUP saw this coming ??
I agree, nothing to do with them having an agenda, just abject incompetence. Even the Tory press are appalled at the mis handling of this one.
The fact that it was kids from state schools that have come out of this worse, just gives the press and angle from which to write their articles.
As for no one seeing this coming, it beggars belief, it rally does
Indeed, but that fact doesn't support the left agenda, hate and rhetoric of some posters on here, who probably struggle to even spell the 'A' in A levels. it is becoming a sadly apparent fact that this site is now merely another mouthpiece for the politics of hate and envy of the left, any comment to the contrary gets you warned, but it's OK for them to make personal attacks on you or I. They cannot accept the outcome of elections, they want us all to live in a Stalinist world, they have no desire to respect democracy, simply shout it down in their slippers and sip horlicks.
100% hindsight is their mantra, anything the ELECTED GOVERNMENT do is wrong, I meet these types all the time, no real purpose, no real meaning and certainly no worldy understanding, just the same old garbage.
Scrimpernell, Mange Cat, Queen street, typical examples of why the whole socialist ideal has been rejected by the MAJORITY. Never any ideas about what to do differently, just criticism of what anyone who isn't Labour does. It's embarassing to even walk the same earth as them.
Cut out the petty name calling - it's not required.
You seem not to have any opinion on the actual subject but, seem to have a problem with ANYONE who doesnt share your politics. Defending the indefensible isnt that great - it just makes you look desperate / daft

It's like sitting down with a beer on Christmas Eve, having bought no presents, then explaining to the wife and kids that you didn't see Christmas coming.

Or standing in the middle of the M! and wondering why you got run over. Perhaps all of the education experts were concentrating on getting the kids back to school in a couple of weeks time or, perhaps those running the show, were comfortable that their own kids wouldn't be affected.
I wonder if there are any stats showing how kids in the state system were down graded compared to kids in private education.
