Trying to score cheap points and divide the nation, when everyone is in a happy mood.

Pathetic really.

Indeed. Recent comments from the likes of Aiden Burley, the Daily Mail etc have been pretty disgusting and divisive. Fortunately, I'm sure none of them would have the two-facedness to now celebrate some of these victories. For instance, only a week ago, the Mail was telling us all that it was nothing more than left-wing propaganda, in the opening ceremony, to suggest a happy, functional mixed-race family with an educated mother could exist.

Take a bow, Jess Ennis: father, a self-employed Jamaican painter and decorator and mother, a Yorkshire social worker (see, it gets worse – a nasty public-service, lazy inadequate; practically abusing children herself, and stealing a gold-plated pension off the state © Mail, Sun etc). Ennis herself attended state schools – including a comprehensive, which means it's an absolute miracle that she learned to be competitive, according to the frothing comments over at the Telegraph this week, in response to the cretinous former Miniature for Sport, who was seeking to make big political capital out of claiming that state schools were failing to produce sportsmen and women and public schools dominate in this.

To reconcile respect with practicality, what is the optimum speed for a hearse?

Interesting too that the Mail was claiming, only a few weeks ago, that Team GB had 60 odd "plastic Brits" who were not really British. Then today they're foaming at the mouth celebrating Mo's gold.

Can anyone else remember the paper that fought to get Zola Budd "non-plastic" British citizenship so she could knock Mary Decker out of the LA Games?

Hypocrites doesn't come close

Indeed. Then editor David English boasted he'd get a passport for Budd in two weeks. It took him four weeks of bullying ministers.

Maybe the reason GB / England RL is always beaten by Australia is because we pick players from outside Yorkshire:

Just a thought

Mens boxing and mens 100m, they always seem so arrogant and cocksure unlike any other sport (maybe a few in football).

Anyone else notice that?

If Yorkshire were a country they would not have any medallists, they would have been too tight to invest in "all that running around"

A few in football? A few?

Not seen any of the boxers interviewed, but they just interviewed a young British sprinter on the BBC and he seemed perfectly pleasant.

And so you aim towards the sky,
And you'll rise high today,
Fly away, Far away,
Far from pain....

That probably says more about Otley, that everybody is riding their bikes, or running extreme distances, just to get away from the place!!....
