Sooo, is the iPhone 4 worth shelling out for?

To cancel my contract with Vodafone would cost in the region of £450. The iPhone 4G directly from Apple is £499 but I can sell my current phone for £145 which would make buying direct from Apple the best option at the moment.

Is buying directly from Apple likely to become cheaper once the main networks release their tariffs, or is it generally a fixed price?

Apple will set the tarrifs and everyone will have to accept it.

Check the new O2 deals mate, it will be counted in the data allowance, I checked with O2, use something like Co-Pilot and it will connect via GPS and not touch the data connection.

Copilot maps are downloaded and stored on the SD card, so there is no data usage.

Google downloads the maps as needed, this is what uses the data.

In fact I will be purchasing co pilot for my holiday in America as it cheaper than hiring sat nav over there.

Anybody know if and when Android 2.1 update is coming out for the Hero? It's been in the pipeline for bloody ages.

San buca, I would recommend setting up a Google email address and using that as your primary email, makes syncing contacts and calendars much easier.

You had to with the G1, it wouldn't go anywhere without Gmail set up.
