The standard is set by the leader which is currently a very high bar because it is doubtful any one individual could have done more than Johnson himself.

Indeed
Sleeping with an adviser is a pre requisite for progression within the Tory Party.
It's amazing how (alleged) adultery is ok, killing 1000's of innocent people is ok, telling lies to your boss and the general public is ok and yet getting within 2 metres of a "friend" is what gets you the push.

Adultery in itself is not really a resigning matter - although it seems a lot of the current ruling party have loose morals compared to the standards they hold others to.

Affairs with people who work for you are more problematic - there is a potential power dynamic issue, and of course a potential conflict of interest.

Affairs with people you appoint to made up jobs and then breach laws with that you create.... even this corrupt government couldn't ignore that.

And of course in yet another amazing coincidence the brother of his mistress has been given another of those sweet sweet Tory government NHS contracts. I'd be tempted to have a lusty affair with Hancock if that's the ticket to millions too.

And still the blind defenders of the cult will refuse to hold them to account.

It's good to see that the government are going to investigate the leaked CCTV footage.
For balance, they should also investigate ho Hancock's new squeeze landed her job and how her brother's firm landed a large NHS contract, something which, once again, they just want to skim over and try to ignore.

The situation with grace and favours seems out of control and our government are certainly looking after their own.
I guess is the more likely meaning of "levelling up". There will be no levelling up when it eventually comes to paying down the national debt.

Johnson can’t even take the moral high ground with the alleged taking of his stress reliever looking at his hands, away on tax payers expense because the PM did the same with his pole dancing coach when mayor of London.
