A few years back was talking to a recently arrived Pole (a plumber!) who'd been pulled by a bailiff for not having a fishing licence. Anyway, when it got to the bit where the penny finally dropped that the licence allows you to fish, but then you have to put them back, well, he just couldn't get his head around that at all.

I mean - why would you? What's the point?

I think it was several months before he grudgingly accepted that it probably wasn't a wind-up, although he still scratches his head. Proof for a Pole that the English really are quite mad.

It's not just him who thinks they are barmy, I do too.

Although I enjoy my fishing, I have absolutely no interest in catching fish for "fun" or "sport" or however some want to dress it up. If I can't eat it or use it for bait to catch something that I can eat, then I ain't interested in trying to catch it. My attitude sometimes upsets the catch & release brigade but I much prefer:

I must disagree. The site of him as Bruno, descending from the air to rub his ball sack in Eminem's face is the stuff TV was invented for. That and Snoop Dog being attacked by Emu on the Word.

He's also the same 'comic' who decided that it would be funny as all hell to 'interview' a Palestinian and then, in the final film, label them a terrorist. Or perhaps that was just to help Mossad?

But he's damn good at self publicity, you have to give him that.
