Lads totally off topic and a shameless bit of self promotion but there was something I would like to make you aware of on the off chance some of you might be able to help me out...
Basically I'm in the early stages of a change of career and am setting out to become a professional photographer, mainly focusing on weddings. I'm a long way off going full time with it yet but to do this I need to build up a bit of a portfolio and set up a website with examples of my work. To do this I'm plugging all my mates to try and get some bookings in through word of mouth. The first few weddings I plan to do at bargain rates to help with getting them booked in. For a fraction of the cost of what a fully fledged wedding photographer would charge, the couple would get some great results of their big day. Clearly the heavily reduced price reflecting the lack of experience. My prefered approach is a 'reportage' style telling the story of the day from the morning preparations right through till after the first dance. Amongst other photos, this mini-site contains a few photos from a recent couple of friends' wedding in Venice but I'd hasten to point out that I was there as a guest and not photographing in any official capacity so they very much are a complimentary set. I have already had a few photos published in local pubications including the current edition of Leeds Guide.
