Quote charlie63wildcat="charlie63wildcat"I completely agree with all the positive comments about Chris. I never saw a game he didn't give 100%. I am really not sure this is a good choice but we don't know the grand plan and total finances so it may be a case of tough choices. It must have been close because, as a squad player in SL, Chris Annakin ticks most of the boxes. If you get some injuries, if he's in the 17, you are not going to be weakened by his presence on the field against anyone. Hope it goes well for you, you deserve success'"
I suppose you have to go with the clubs mantra over the past few years and that’s less players more quality.
Now I’m not saying Chris doesn’t have quality I’ll leave that to individual poster. However few can argue that throughout his Trinity career he’s never been more than a back up/utility player, not my opinion but that of at least four coaches.
He simply doesn’t fit in our modern plan, I’m not brave enough to say whether I think that’s right.
Of note we have two young what I call compact forwards in Crowrther and Batch and an older one in Arona all of whom fulfill similar rolls, it’s a crowded market I suppose.
Anyway we move on and I still wish him well at a club where he still has time to gain cult status.
