We only have one quota marquee spot, I'd rather use it on a 7 or 9.

My Rovers mate told me you were rumoured to be interested in Amone, maybe wishful thinking from him? Either way Ese'ese and Amone or JWH and Amone is some starting from row

Rovers have no quota spots, so unless they release one (possible one of the overseas centres) he won't be going there.

I'd only sign Amone if we ca release Pele or Sao.

Got bigger priority than prop and as ut stands only two quota spots and we desperately need a centre, halfback, hooker and backrower before prop.

It may well be that we have already secured a new coach, which is allowing signings to happen sooner rather than later. Hopefully Pele and Okunbor are on their way at the end of the season and progress is being made in the search for a centre, halfback, hooker and backrower.

The timing of announcements are subject to many variables and not necessarily reflective of priorities or actual signings.

Either way it's good to finally feel like things are moving forward.

its vital we get a 7 to partner trueman next.charles needs a rest and smith is not a half.9 would be next for next season.getting these positions sorted would really boost our attacking options.at the moment the opposition only have to get into double figures and thats us done.

Our most successful periods have been built around strong forward packs, 2005/6 with Thackray, King, Dowes, Carvell, Mcmenemy, Swain, Kearney and 2016/17 with watts, Taylor, minichello, Pritchard, Manu and Ellis, if we can offload Pele/Okunbor and potentially Sao and bring in Amone, we've got the makings of a good forward pack next year

But in that era, we had Cooke, Horne, Swain, Houghton, Sneyd and Talanoa. The basis was there. We don't and need to recruit in more important areas. But if we can offload one of those I wouldn't be against it, but I wouldn't be using a marquee spot on him.

He's now said no, I'm pleased about that.

Maybe not a marquee spot, but if he wants to come for non marquee wages then I'd sign him, Cooke/Horne and sneyd/Kelly wouldn't have been as effective without a decent forward pack
