What makes this over confidence even more ludicrous is that it totally ignores history. Give us a relegation decider and we are the best. Give us a game that might bring us some glory and our record over the past forty years has been truly abysmal. I may be wrong but we have only won once, the YC and that’s our only other final appearance as well. Two CCup semis, one of which was embarrassing. That’s it, it’s not like we have a recent history of success.

Bradford do, and although they are a shadow of what they were they at least have a culture of winning these kinds of games.

As a club we need to get back into the zone and actually get a hunger back for success, even modest success in this case.

If people think we are over that clitch think again. I know the weather played a biggish part but let’s be honest the CCup game against Fev was the one we seemed least prepared for this season. I don’t think anyone can deny that they were more up for it on the day. And that is typical of the last forty years.

Still, it will change eventually, so why not on Sunday, fingers crossed.

PS: Sorry forgot the promotion in 1999

You've posted some absolute rubbish over the years but this up there with the worst. If you genuinely believe the 2008 Challenge Cup semi final will have any influence on the result this weekend then you've lost the plot!

You talk about recent history and being the best at relegation deciders, yet the most recent relegation decider we were involved in we lost! If we lose on Sunday it's because we haven't played well enough, nothing else.

That second half performance of Cas had the classic hallmarks of a clogger conditioned squad.

We saw some "interesting" performances last season, but I don't think we had one as bad as that tbf......

Agree, I never get the history thing, there's just nothing in it, it's just nonsense. New ownership, new coach, new players come and people still cling onto this idea that there is something in the fact certain clubs have this 'history' of winning or losing games.

Regarding Cas not been in super league. Personally I want them to be there and in reality it will just be a straight swap us for London. Wouldn't you want to see our team playing them currently? Rather be in same league and beat them consistently if I'm honest.

I agree. The common denominator is always the supporters and they create a narrative that just isn't there.

The reality is, when a team has a run of wins like Cas did with us, they were just a better club at that time, in terms of money and recruitment.
Certain styles suit teams but that really only lasts a season.

Tbf, with injuries, players out of position and against Saints, who were desperate to bounce back, they were always going to get beaten, especially when the numbers were evened up.
However, they did lose their heads.
They will be happy that London are in SL this season.

KR seem to have picked up our better players over the past couple of seasons but Cas looked awful.

Is Clogger at Cas? Or was it just comparison of teams?
