As for being available... I guess so but we'd need someone to carry the water on in his place.... then again we already have Howarth |

I think this comment belongs in the Morley Signed thread. |

can't understand why saints fans are falling over themselves extolling the virtues of their ' marquee signing ' and with still a year to run on his contract .

My big worry is that we're freeing up a big chunk of salary cap for a club that's planning a late counter bid for Chase. Hardly a great bit of strategic thinking if true.

Probably do a job at FB for you. Anywhere else he's proved to be pretty useless in his saints career.

You're going to have a few ex-saints players!

I doubt we'll be in for Chase.

If you're theory is right, re: the counter bid, then you've also made room on our quota list. |

However, it's also pretty well known that he was a great fullback.

I'm surprised nobody at St Helens was aware of this before signing him.

As for the Chase thing, let's wait and see. But I do hope Salford haven't shot themselves in the foot here by inadvertently assisting a rival suitor.

Think the Doc will be announcing people like this next Friday (ish) a marked step up for who we've signed in previous years and someone who can be a fixture for longer than the likes of Meli, Morley and Puletua.

Was he a great fullback though? He had a brilliant World Cup in 2008 that led to a load of people talking him up and St Helens eventually signing him. I always thought he was a bit overrated, even when watching him in the NRL. |
