Isn't 'great' stretching it a bit? He was the classic workshy wide-running second rower. Could be devastating at times, or dreadful for entire games. In fact, if you want a second row to have nightmares about, imagine pairing him and Simon Haughton.

Surely he is just an observer, SOO teams have more Coaching staff and helpers/hangers on than you can poke a stick at.
