Have we got any genuine wingers coming through from our academy? I feel like the ones mentioned are centres / full backs who can cover on the wing, but could be wrong!!

Are we about 'last hurrahs'?
Is this going to be the basis of the club's marketing for next season, like when they hung their hat on '20 years of Jamie Jones' as there was nothing to say about the actual product on the pitch.

He was never the fastest even in his younger days and lacking the pace even more at his age.The modern day game needs wingers with pace more than ever like all the top ones have.
Been a great player in the past but is this our ambition.
Further signs GH has lost the plot.
What next JJB putting hos boots on.

Hall makes sense, given the position we are in.
Great way to save money. Will it be spent elsewhere in 25? Hope so.

I’m not massively fussed about the players coming through being specialist wingers at this point, what they need is pace and awareness. Positional play can be taught.

Yep totally agree. Pace, awareness, skill under the high ball basically. If a FB is quick they should be able to play wing too.

We do have about five options for wing with young players, but none of them look ready to step up to regular first grade for 2025. So if we don't want to play Roberts there, Hall does make sense on 1 year to me.

Roberts is an interesting one - he is still really young and has loads of development in him. I'm not sure whether he'll end up at centre or back row but I think he's been pretty solid most games. He just has the occasional costly drop in him.

To be fair to Roberts he's not really a winger, and trained the off season in the centres. He's an OK reserve, and really not the worst of our problems by a long way.

Hall would make sense if it were with immediate effect.
But for next season, it's a bit pointless.

As long as the investment is made elsewhere makes sense as a short term option. We need the money spent on improving our pack and Fus for Hall releases a good chunk of money plus a quota spot. I get the frustration but if you look at the stats for this year hes miles ahead of Roberts who's currently playing there in every one that matters. Davies or Johnstone would both be great but would be wasted at Leeds unless the pack improves

Ryan Hall in 2025 then to a ‘role’ at the club. Classic Gary move. Buys time to let academy players be ready, under the tutelage of a great player. And like many other former leading players, Hall is offered a sinecure with the club. If anyone has a list of these former player sinecures I’d like to see it, but my sense is that they often don’t last that long, or in some cases a former player seems to be still hanging around the club whilst it isn’t clear what they are doing.

It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.

Ryan Hall is comfortably the smartest of the former players to be offered a role with the club. He’s a very strong candidate to take over from GH after a couple of years learning the ropes.

Roberts is an average super league player, not that safe under the high ball. Doesn’t do many tackle busts. Another pound shop bargain basement signing.
