It's one of those damned if you do and damned if you don't scenario's...
If the club had just put on the website that a current player would be signing an extension to his contract, then it wouldn't have attracted anywhere near the same kind of publicity as this announcement has...
It's massive and no doubt cost the club a lot of money, so they did right to make something of it and we've arguably tied up the best player in Superleague on a long term contract, a player who has been instrumental in the relative success we've enjoyed, had it not been for our horrendous injuries I'm sure we would have gone on to even better things in 2011.
We do need more signings, but this sends out all the right kinds of signals to the rugby league world and to players we may want to bring onboard.
I have to applaud everyone concerned with making this happen!
Also have to thank Rangi for putting his faith in the club, as I know there will have been a lot of pressure on him from other quarters.
