Just returned home from tonight's pledge night & what a surprisigly good night it turned ou to be. All credit to the organisers of the idea and the evening itself, I won't name anyone for fear of leaving anyone out & run the risk of offending them !
Bloemy played another blinder for Halifax RLFC tonight, anchoring the event & interviewing various characters including Jonnie Lawless, Gonzo, Blacky & Michael Steele to gauge their opinions of what the U/23's means to the future of our club and it's bid for a SL franchise.
He also played his part in his role as auctioneer, flogging lots of RL & Halifax RL, and bottles of wines, advocaats etc etc in getting the kitty opened up in the aim of raising the £25K that the Trust hope to give to the club.
I thought it was a decent turnout on a crappy weather, middle of the week evening, so well done to everyone involved & all those who attended. There's a real buzz about our club again.
