I am glad the wife hasn't given birth because I would be trudging back down to Fax evey bit as disillushioned as I was several weeks ago. We look lathargic, clueless and lazy. In terms of the game itself this is the biggest game this club has played in since the York playoff, regardless of the result. We didn't even look fired up.

Watching Barrow from 1-17 every player was fired up and eager to off-load and back up. Calland tinkers with the team far too much and makes un-necessary changes to the team. Worrincy is simply not good enough, his positional play is very poor and leaves his wing far too exposed. Black, who I expected to have a BIG game was absent, didn't know he was on the field. It was like watching your side a$$ whiped on live TV. It was embarrasing to watch.

The most obvious and worrying aspect was the complete lack of enthusiasm. The fans who travelled deserved a far better show than that.

We've been poor for 3 months now and the Leigh & Toulouse victories were a struggle against very poor opposition. I do think BIG questions need to be asked at the season end as I see it we have continued to go backwards in our on-field development.

Whilst I've been critical of Penky on another post, I think the reason why we went off the rails is that the pack has run out of steam. Whilst Big Frank, Larder and Smith have been great servants, they are all in their latter years, and can't possibly compete week in week out for the full season. They undoubtedly have the class and whilst they were fresh, we were great. However, as the season has gone on, they have become less effective. Losing Matt James was also a massive blow.

Without a top class pack, we won't win anything.

I expected more from Maloney for Fax! He hasn't delivered what I expected and I was getting really excited about the possibility of him coming to Rovers! Fax got him and I was a bit hacked off we'd lost the one. However, now with hindsight I'm really non-plussed about it!

Maloney is good but at the moment he's having to carry the other forwards

Think your well wide of the mark here mate. Maloney is quality and he will prove that. How many times have you seen him play?

Royston - Improver towards the back end of the season
Paterson - Kicks well, was awesome in the NRC stages and 1st few NL games, then average
Haley - Consistent Grafter - Tries is best every game
Goddard - Been very quiet since return from injury
Worrincy - Tries, but runs sideways, doesn't have an eye for the gap
Black - Mr Inconsistency
Penkywicz - Lost his "spark!" from previous seasons, poor performances now outweigh the good
Watene - Unfit, lost his ability to skittle the defence
Beswick - Lacks leadership, a very good ball handler, but it appears the others want to boss, never communicates with the team, bean ominous in the last few games
Wrench - No punch in attack, though defends well, to his credit
Larder - Prduces the odd good game, though not "up for it", these days, defence still good though
Bannister - Jury still out, hasn't set the world on fire as of yet
Smith - Another ball playing forward, you don't see him involved too much

Gleeson - Good all round player, hes probably ed off his team mates can't gel a little more
Roberts - Pinball tries hard, like his running stile, wish his wingers and centres would look for gaps when hes around
Tamghart - Form poor since the slump started
Maloney - Steady, not spectacular, does the hard graft, but haven't seen him "get angry"


Next week, we WILL lose to Widnes because they WILL WANT IT MORE, that is a fact.
